Stephen Collins Will Not Return to 'Scandal', For Obvious Reasons
Earlier this year, Stephen Collins announced that he would be returning to ABC's Scandal this season. The former 7th Heaven star played the role of Reed Wallace, a reporter who is on air during the attempted assassination of Fitz back in 2012. But that's no longer happening...for obvious reasons.
Just days after news broke that Collins admitted, in a therapy session taped by his wife, that he molested and exposed himself to at least three underage girls, ABC has confirmed that they're cutting all ties with Collins. "We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins."
This is the latest role Collins has lost as a result of the child molestation claims, as he was recently fired from his upcoming role in Ted 2. Still, it's hard to blame anyone for not wanting to work with the guy now, given the severity of the claims against him. Of course, there's a certain grim poetry to Collins getting canned from a show called Scandal, all for having had a scandal of his own.
