Stephen Amell Shoots Down 'Batman v Superman' Rumors
Arrow fans have been very vocal about their love for Stephen Amell. It's to the point where they want him mixing it up on the big screen with the rest of the DC Universe. However, Amell himself is taking out his quiver of arrows and shooting down speculation about his role in 2016's most anticipated movie.
Amell took to his official Facebook page to quiet rumors that he and other DC Comics characters hanging out on The CW will make cameos in Batman v Superman, after a post that he had a big announcement to make at Comic-Con in a few weeks was taken way out of proportion.
"I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I’m going to be in Batman V Superman. I’m not going to be in Batman V Superman," Amell wrote. He then added an addendum in the comments, saying, "The next time that I either do a video or an interview with a journalist that I like, I’ll be happy to explain why this is the case. Short form: It’s not a barometer on ability or the quality of genre…. Everything here boils down to logistics."
Still, Amell has no regrets about being on the small screen instead of the big one. "But keep in mind, playing Arrow on television isn't a consolation prize. We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe."
So while it would be great to have Amell on the big screen, it doesn't look like it's happening. But we still have Arrow, and that's more than enough for its fans.
