Steph Nala sang 'Careless Whisper' on The X Factor UK 2014 Judges' Houses.

Steph can sing, but this song did her no favors. That breathy, whispy quality in her voice is lovely if she matches it with the right song and the right arrangement, and while I thought she got at least half of this right (the arrangement part), the other, more important half (song choice) failed her. Still, she's one of the more current artists in this competition, and I imagine she'd have pretty wide appeal, considering just how many genres she could potentially tackle. Is she the best singer? No. But she does have a voice, a look, and a certain presence about her. That's gotta count for something. I just wish all her ingredients had been put to use with a better song/performance, because I just didn't like this at all.

I just did not get this choice at all. I wish I could understand, especially since Lola and Emily did much better, I thought. I hope Steph really brings it during the live shows and makes a statement with her performance, because I just don't understand this choice by Cheryl.
