The Big Bang Theory is one of TV's preeminent nerd comedies, so it stands to reason the show would book two icons of one of the best-loved films in all of geekdom.
Big Bang Theory executive producers Bill Prady and Steve Molaro have confirmed that Star Wars alums James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa) have joined the series in guest-starring roles. In an upcoming episode, Jones and Fisher will cameo as themselves, coming face-to-face with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons).
No word yet on when the episode will air, but the series is still TV's #1 comedy, so I don't think knowing the airdate ahead of time will make much of a difference to the outrageous ratings the show continues to pull each week. (Seriously, this show is to TV what Will Smith is to movies. Or was. You know, before After Earth happened. But the less said about After Earth, the better.)
