'Star Wars: Episode VII' to Take Place 30 Years After 'Return of the Jedi'

The script for Star Wars: Episode VII has been complete for some time, but not much has been known about the actual story. Until now.

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that Star Wars: Episode VII, which will begin shooting this May at Pinewood Studios in London, will take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi, which was Episode VI in the legendary space saga. The new sequel trilogy "will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces," likely including Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, who are expected to reprise their roles as Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker, respectively.

It's hard to imagine the film won't feature the return of the Empire or the Sith, in some form or fashion. However, I'd love to see a new kind of villain, perhaps a gangster or politician. The more cerebral the villain, the better.

What do you think Star Wars: Episode VII will entail? Will the Empire return? Will the Sith? Sound off in the comments!
