'Spring Breakers' to be Remixed into an Alternative Film

'Spring Breakers' Promo

In a somewhat groundbreaking move, filmmaker Harmony Korine has decided to remake his latest project, Spring Breakers, using alternative footage to the original film.

The indie hit, which thrives on artistic social commentary via music and visual effects, is getting what Korine describes as the "chopped and screwed" treatment. Meaning, this is set to be the first film to be remixed in the same vein as DJs have remixed music for years. On the alternative version of Spring Breakers, Korine had this to say:

Let’s just say for right now there’ll be a whole alternate film at some point… The film has been sizzurped!  The ghost of DJ Screw came back and edited the film. It’s going to be an interesting experiment.
