'Spartacus' Star Nick Tarabay Joins 'Arrow' Season 3

Arrow is getting an infusion of Blood and Sand: Spartacus alum Nick Tarabay has been cast as the villainous Digger Harkness, the DC Comics character better known to fans as Captain Boomerang.

Tarabay is hardly the first Spartacus alum to find a home on Arrow, as both Manu Bennett (Deathstroke) and Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Amanda Waller) appeared on the Starz series. Tarabay's role of Ashur crossed over into subsequent Spartacus series, Vengeance and Gods of the Arena, a fact which forms an interesting parallel to the actor's upcoming role on Arrow.

Why?

Because Tarabay's character on Arrow will also be crossing over into another series: the upcoming Arrow spinoff, The Flash. Basically, Tarabay will appear as Harkness in episodes seven and eight of Arrow Season 3, only to subsequently appear as Harkness/Captain Boomerang during the first season of The Flash.

Arrow returns for its third season on Wednesday, Oct. 8 on the CW.
