Cristina Santana and Pasha Kovalev - Paso Doble
Cat Deeley said that she likes "girls on top" -- omigosh. And yet another reason why I love Cat.
Adechike Torbert and Allison Holker - Contemporary
It was nice to see Adechike smiling, but there is a void in my opinion when he dances. The emotion that he feels just doesn't carry through in his movement. Surprising since Adechike has one of the more interesting backstories on the show -- and he is not shy to put it all out there: he's the "underdog", his family lost everything in a fire, etc.
Alex Wong and Lauren Gottlieb – Broadway
Just not Fosse-enough or at all said the judges. At first I wanted Alex to just not talk because he might get annoying -- but in the end when he said the that the reason why he's decided to be on the show is precisely "because he's here to learn" just reminded me of why I love him. He's so earnest. He really loves what he is doing. Hope he is able to take the judges comments and transform himself next week.
Ashley Galvan and Mark Kanemura – Jazz
It's really a compliment to Ashley that she is able to keep up with Mark Kanemura. However, this dance was all about Nigel Lythgoe totally dissing Travis Wall! Omigosh. And Nigel made it a point to diss Travis again at the end of the show during the Tyce Diorio-choreographed Kent Boyd routine. Boo Nigel!
Billy Bell and Comfort Fedoke – Krump
Poor Billy! He got a style completely incompatible to his style and personality. Didn't work at all, but the judges still loved him for who he was.
Robert Roldan and Anya Garnis – Argentine Tango
Okay I'll say it: I do think Robert is kinda annoying. I think he's trying to channel a Mark Kanemura, perhaps Nathan Trasoras quirkiness that is just not working for me. He's just trying too hard.
Melinda Sullivan and Ade Obayomi – Contemporary
A dance for Mother Earth. But I was totally distracted by Mia Michael's comment of Melinda's dress -- "Who am I to say anything, I'm wearing a bedspread!"
I love Mia Michaels!
Jose Ruiz and Kathryn McCormick – Bollywood
I loved this! Jose was totally enjoying himself out there, which is very entertaining to watch. It looked like Bollywood to me, so I don't care what the judges said.
Lauren Froderman and Dominic Sandoval – Lyrical Hip-Hop
There has been some mixed reaction to this dance, but I loved it. I thought Lauren was just fantastic in it and I really felt her emotion. LOL on Cat Deeley asking Dominic if he wanted to go deeper. Awkward.
Kent Boyd and Courtney Galliano – Jazz
Another mixed reaction here, but this time from the judges table. First off, I was a bit pissed that Nigel had to go off on Travis Wall when he had nothing to do with this dance. And then the "eating Kent Boyd" comments from the judges table -- and Cat asking Courtney if he wanted to eat Kent. WTF.
Who's leaving on Thursday?
My bet is it's going to be a guy so it's between Robert Roldan and Adechike Torbert for me, perhaps even Billy Bell ending up as a shocking Bottom 3.
