Smitten
I told Carina that we needed to take a picture so I can report to my readers exactly what I've been doing these days. We had dinner at Chez Suzette in Midtown, courtesy of a gift certificate I got a few months ago. We had duck, osso bucco and filet mignon with a bottle of Pinot Noir. It was a night of delightful conversation, which I thought I needed, given that life has been dull lately. I feel fortunate that I still have little reminders of how it is to live (really). A highlight of the evening was how Carina and I noticed that our waiter was absolutely smitten by our friend, which led to her asking: "Meron ba talagang babaeng bastos bastusin?" - which in English is roughly translated as: "Are there really women that trigger lust?"
After two years, I decided to wear my contacts again. I felt nauseated at first, but I think I'm adjusting. Everything looks so clear and the world looks so beautiful. I can see faces across the street.

Finally, Butt drove me home in his cab tonight. As a consolation, in Pakistan, his name means "equal". Butt really, change your name.
