'Smash' Musical 'Hit List' Is Happening

One of the fictional musicals created in NBC's cancelled series Smash is now becoming an actual show.
Hit List, which was a musical introduced in season 2 of the NBC drama, told the story of the meteoric rise and tragic fall of a wannabe popstar whose relationship with a talented young songwriter proves complicated, to put it mildly. The live production of the musical will feature Smash stars Jeremy Jordan, Krysta Rodriguez and Andy Mientus, with a score written by Drew Gasparini, Joe Iconis, Andrew McMahon, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, and Lucie Silvas.
Former Smash showrunner Joshua Safran will be involved with the production, which will feature a full band.
Hit List is currently set to take place at 54 Below in New York, and will also include songs cut from the original show. Additional performers and special guests are expected to be announced as well.
The performance will open on Monday, December 9.

(I might actually try to go to this thing. I still listen to the Hit List soundtrack damn near every day! In fact, I've embedded my four favorite tracks from the show below. It's not too late to hop on the bandwagon!)
