Sleepy Hollow - Episode 11 - Recap - The Vessel
Sleepy Hollow - Episode 11 - Recap - The Vessel
FOX brings Sleepy Hollow back for two more, ramping up the tension and action before next week's season finale, and I'm quite excited about it! I like this show. A lot. A lot a lot. I maybe like it even more than Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I'm a guy who spends $50+ every week on comic books. Anyway, lets get back to what Revolutionary War turncoat Ichabod Crane and modern-day cop Abbie Mills are up to in their fight against Hell's servant Moloch!
While the pair looks for clues into Moloch's plans, Abbie has Ichabod tries on some modern day clothes. He ends up looking like a Halloween store version of Russell Brand. After this little goof, they look into the late Sheriff Corben's files and find a DVD of a possessed young woman. The young woman turns out to be Abbie's younger sister, Jenny Mills! Woah! They call Jenny over before watching the video, to avoid invading her privacy. They watch the tape, though, and we're treated to demonic prophecy (and a guest appearance by Clancy Brown) that fortells of both the Sheriff's death and Abbie's. The former has come to pass, but can the latter really be in store?
The next port of call for Abbie, Ichabod, and Jenny is a cult compound, to steal a lantern that cures demonic possession. The heist goes off without a problem, but the escape lands them whole trio on the wrong end of some automatic weapons. Ichabod tries his best to convince the leader of this little militia to let them leave. Jenny shows up, dual-wielding uzis, and ends up being a tiny bit more... persuasive. She promises to bring the lantern back and the whole trio heads out to the archive to assists Captain Irving, who you can go on and read about in the next paragraph.
Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) has been getting threatening messages from demon-possessed folks. The possession passes from person to person by touch, eventualkly landing itself right inside of the precinct. This representative of Moloch demands George Washington's bible in exchange for the safety of Irving's daughter. He's got until sundown to deliver, so Irving gets his family to a far away cabin for safekeeping. Unbeknownst to him, though, the demon has possessed one of the cops assisting with this. The tricksy demon switches bodies, eventually killing both cops and landing, to my surprise, in Irving's daughter Macy! She gets all Paranormal Activity on us, then makes Irving bring her (him? it??) to the Washington Bible. They get there and see no bible in the lock box. Uh oh!
Now the plots converge, as Abbie, Jenny, and Ichabod show up just in time to be the Big Damn Heroes. The Mills sisters talk the demon into distraction while Ichabod closes a salt circle around the possessed girl. He raises the lantern and chants some words, ghostbusting the demon right good. The whole affair is over, but I'm sure the effects of this stressful thing will be felt in next week's big finale and in this fall's second season! Check out this preview below!
