The masterful work of ten-time Oscar nominee and legend in the world of cinematography, Roger Deakins, took home the top honor from the American Society of Cinematographers for his work on 'Skyfall'. At the 27th annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland, the film took top feature honors while FX's 'Wilfred' and HBO's 'Game of Thrones' topped the TV category.

The film defeated steep competition from Oscar nominees Janusz Kaminski for 'Lincoln', Claudio Miranda for 'Life of Pi', Seamus McGarvey for 'Anna Karenina', and Danny Cohen for 'Les Miserables'. Only Cohen missed out on an Oscar nomination, replaced at the Oscars by Robert Richardson's work on 'Django Unchained'.

Five of the last 10 ASC Award winners have gone on to win the Academy Award for Cinematography.
