SIRPAUL at the Triad in New York City

Howard already wrote about this here, but here's my recap:

So I watched SIRPAUL at the Triad in New York over the weekend with Howard and his niece. (The Triad looked a lot like the theater in which Wilhelmina Slater performed her cabaret act in Ugly Betty last season.) Howard is a big fan of SIRPAUL and he came all the way from Delaware just to see the show.

I was very happy that I had gone even if I had no idea what to expect (although Howard kept on reminding me that SIRPAUL's music has already appeared many times on "my blog", LOL). SIRPAUL's music was really good! In fact, I found myself singing a couple of tracks this morning. Very catchy.

I've been encouraging Howard to share his "indie" artist coverage from his blog Soundtrack To My Day here on Rickey.org and I was very pleased to have been to one of these "indie" shows finally -- nice break from PR-induced American Idol acts. I'm not so sure if others out there are as good as SIRPAUL, but the show last weekend inspired me to look out there specially in New York for these kinds of indie talent -- there must be talent out there right? Watching SIRPAUL was very refreshing specially since the music itself was way better than a lot of stuff that's out there in the "mainstream". You can visit his website and listen to some samples to see what I mean.

After the show, Howard got SIRPAUL to great us here on Rickey.org.
