'Sinister' Director Scott Derrickson to Helm Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'
Director Scott Derrickson has made a name for himself with horror films such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister. Now, he'll be heading into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to tackle Doctor Strange.
Derrickson will direct the film, which centers on the titular neurosurgeon who "serves as the Sorcerer Supreme protecting Earth against magical and mystical threats with powers of sorcery, mysticism, and martial arts."
Derrickson confirmed the news of his involvement via Twitter, posting a photo in which he holds up an issue of Doctor Strange above a caption that reads, "My next movie will be STRANGE."

No word on when Doctor Strange will hit the big screen, but casting rumors continue to swirl, with Johnny Depp as one of the possibilities for the lead role. With a director now in place, I don't think we'll have to wait long before casting news starts hitting the rounds.
