News broke on Friday that singer and former B2K group member Raz-B was comatose and on life-support following a confrontation in which the singer had a bottle broken over his head while trying to break up a fight at a night club in China. However, things are looking a lot less grim now than they appeared to be over the weekend.
TMZ is reporting that the singer, real name De'Mario Monte Thornton, is not only out of his coma and off life-support, but is also responsive and smiling.
Sources close to Raz-B confirmed to TMZ that the singer has been updated to stable condition, but has not yet been released from the hospital. He will be staying a few more days to be monitored.
The entire incident is the result of a fight at a club in China, where Raz-B has been living for the past three years. The singer was smashed in the face with a bottle Thursday while performing at the club, and was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where he underwent minor surgery. However, when the singer didn't wake up the next day, his back-up dancer rushed him to the hospital again. Doctors quickly recognized the severity of Raz-B's condition, placing him on life support after determining the singer had fallen into a coma.
A rep for Raz-B states that the doctors are saying it's a miracle that he survived.
