Simon Cowell to judge both the UK and US X Factor finals

What kind of craziness is this?

Simon Cowell is going to be a judge on both the UK and US X Factor! He will not be mentoring anyone on the UK version however, but will be giving his opinion via transatlantic link during the live shows. Does this mean he doesn't trust the current panel? Is he going to be part of the judges' vote? What a mess.

From Metro:

‘Originally he wanted to leave the UK show and just be behind the scenes but now he has changed his mind and wants to appear live and give the contestants his verdicts’ a source told The People.

‘His US schedule is so busy though that flying over regularly is impossible so he has opted for the transatlantic link. He is hoping he can have the best of both worlds. He wants to be a dominant part of the finals’ they added.
