Simon Cowell picks Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey for American Idol Finale
Oh what an interesting angle: the Christians vs. the Gays on American Idol! Or less scandalous: Gospel vs. Broadway.
Danny Gokey vs. Adam Lambert in the finale is a little bit boring in my opinion, but I understand why Simon would want this kind of match-up: Adam and Danny are the only two left who a casual Idol viewer (not super fans like those who read Rickey.org) perceive could win it all. You don't want to go into the finale with too much lopsidedness.
I think that Danny Gokey already made his point appealing to the Christian vote -- so I think he should go back and make himself more appealing to a general audience. Just a few weeks ago, everyone loved him, but he's lost a bit of that to Adam and Kris Allen. Not everyone will remember "Hero" which seems so long ago now.
