Simon Cowell on Cheryl Cole: Not My Fault

SIMON Cowell last night blamed Cheryl Cole for failing to win over US X Factor executives – and insisted: “Her sacking is not my fault.”He said Cheryl had refused to play the Hollywood game after he gave her the greatest opportunity of her life by pushing for her to be on the show.
“Instead of attending the Grammy Awards and the Coachella music festival, putting herself out there in America, she sat in her hotel room eating digestive biscuits,” a Fox TV production executive revealed.
Another source close to Cowell insisted that he had done everything he could to promote Cheryl. But at the end of the day, the decision to sack her was down to Fox TV executives.“It’s not Simon’s fault. He made sure she got a shot at it. He gave her the opportunity and set her up with all the meetings.
“He fought hard to get her the gig, and he has fought hard to keep her over the past week.
“But Fox TV is not ITV. Fox is pouring in millions of dollars every week just on advertising the programme and their views have to be listened to, as well as Simon’s.”
Hmm. Eating biscuits. I'm not buying the whole "No one can understand her accent thing." Americans are not stupid. And if we can understand Paula's slurring, I'm sure we can understand Cheryl.
