Simon Cowell: Demi Lovato is leaving 'The X Factor'

Simon Cowell confirmed on The X Factor red carpet tonight that Demi Lovato is indeed leaving The X Factor.

Earlier today, PEOPLE first reported that Demi was leaving the show after two years.

Well. No wonder Simon was throwing Miley Cyrus' name out there as his dream judge. He already knew that his "former dream judge" Demi was leaving.

From Deadline:

Speaking on the red carpet after tonight’s performace finale, The X Factor boss Simon Cowell confirmed that Lovato won’t be back next season but indicated that the door will be left open for her in the future. Word that Lovato would be leaving after two seasons got out earlier today on People.com.
