Simon Cowell concedes defeat to The Voice
After losing the ratings war to The Voice UK over the weekend, Simon Cowell has decided to move Britain's Got Talent to a later timeslot in the UK to avoid an overlap.
BGT will now start at 8:30 PM instead of 8 PM on Saturdays.
This makes me so excited for the fall when The Voice and The X Factor will air during the same weeks. Which show will win the viewers over?
From Daily Mail:
Bosses at ITV have backed down in their decision to allow Britain’s Got Talent to clash with its BBC1 rival The Voice.Simon Cowell’s talent show lost out in the battle for viewers last weekend for the first time and has been comprehensively trounced in the ratings during the all-important overlap period.
ITV chiefs are now hoping by airing the show later it can reclaim top spot in the Saturday night ratings war.
BGT will start at 8.30pm on ITV1 from April 21, instead of 8pm, while The Voice will continue to start at 7pm on BBC1.
Both shows have performed well, drawing in nearly 10million viewers each, but during the 20 minute clash The Voice drew in nearly 4million more.
