Sigh, Life

Okay so I'm struggling with my day-to-day affairs, but I'm trying not to show it, although I am writing about it, which is like, okay, I'm showing it. Anyway, things are just happening around me, and it's one of those times again when I just can't concentrate. Times like these call for good honest blogging to get your thoughts straight.

As I enter Phase II of the South Beach Diet, I've begun to take in some of the prohibited foods, like sugar, and it's actually throwing my system off a little bit. My sister sent some concentrated calamansi juice from the Philippines (it's our native lemon) and just a teaspoon of it is making me hyper. It's also made me hungrier. I tried some whole wheat spaghetti tonight and yes, it did taste like cardboard.

So why am I still dieting? I don't know. I think now it's more of changing my diet as compared to dieting to lose weight. As it stands I don't think I lost any over the past two weeks. I have however succeeded in the following:

1. Eat several meals a day and not go hungry,
2. Eat healthy foods and lots of eggs; and
3. Be truly and honestly constipated

I've also become a little "weak" and more susceptible to the cold. Although, it is darn cold in the city anyway so, probably that's not the fault of South Beach.

(As I mentioned before somewhere, my next goal is to hit the gym and build muscles and look like Taimak, but I'm still planning this out.)

I have a pile of comics, magazines, books and DVDs on my desk that I should be diving into, but I'm just lacking the willpower. Incidentally, I've been doing numerous things at work, which thankfully are not too stressful, although time-consuming (like cleaning the store and eating all day). My social life has been stable (saw Jayme yesterday), and I won a Magic tournament last Friday.

Are things picking up? Maybe. I'm merely riding the waves rippling through my life lately. And quite frankly, just surviving the bitter cold that is sweeping the Northeast this Winter season. I'm not wishing for Spring or Summer since I have issues with those seasons as well, so I'm just going with the flow. Autumn will come back someday. I'll try my best to be around for it.
