Shirley MacLaine to Guest Star on 'Glee'

By Nick Roman ·

Shirley MacLaine is headed to New York City!

The Oscar winner will be guest-starring on Glee in a multi-episode arc, playing "a New York socialite intent on turning Blaine (Darren Criss) into a superstar." So it looks like Rachel will have some competition on the Broadway stage. MacLaine tweeted this photo from rehearsals, by way of confirming her involvement with the Ryan Murphy series.

(Man, Rickey is right. This really might end up being Smash 2.0. If MacLaine starts throwing cocktails in people's faces, we'll know for sure)

MacLaine's first episode is scheduled to air later this month, as the show rounds out its fifth season amid a reduced episode order, and word that the show's final season will be entirely centered on the NYC storylines. As a man who's still not over the loss of Smash, I'm not exactly complaining about a show focusing on the Great White Way.
