Shayne Lamas in a Coma Following Miscarriage

Shayne Lamas, daughter of Lorenzo Lamas and Season 12 winner of The Bachelor, has slipped into a coma following the miscarriage of her second child.

According to TMZ, paramedics rushed to the home of Lamas and her husband Nik Richie last night (Feb. 9) after Shayne collapsed. She was 16-weeks into her pregnancy.

Specialists were called in to stop internal bleeding around Shayne's uterus but were unable to save her unborn child during surgery.

Shayne is currently in a coma and being assisted by a breathing apparatus but doctors are optimistic that she will recover.

UPDATE: Lorenzo Lamas has reported to People that his daughter is not in a coma. As he told the magazine, "We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying."

He went on to add, "Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."
