'Shameless' and 'House of Lies' Renewed by Showtime

Further illustrating its dedication to comedies about characters of questionable moral composition, Showtime has renewed House of Lies and Shameless!

Showtime has ordered 12 episodes of each show for premiere in 2015, as Shameless will enter its fifth season while House Of Lies enters its fourth. Along with the recently-renewed Matt LeBlanc comedy Episodes, this renewal means that Showtime's entire winter original lineup is coming back on Sunday nights next year. The current fourth season of Shameless, starring Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy, is the show's highest-rated season yet, averaging 5.5 million weekly viewers, an 8% improvement over season 3. House Of Lies isn't doing too shabby either, averaging 3 million viewers per week, which is on par with season 2. The series, starring two-time Emmy nominee Don Cheadle, hit a season high just last week, which all but sealed the show's renewal fate.

In short, this is definitely great news for fans of darkly comic TV.
