'Shameless' Casts Dermot Mulroney for Season 5

Dermot Mulroney is looking to get with Fiona Gallagher.

Shameless, the Emmy-nominated Showtime comedy, has cast Mulroney in a major Season 5 arc as a suitor for Emmy Rossum's character.

Mulroney, who most recently appeared on the canceled NBC series Crisis, will play “ex-bad boy and recovering addict” Sean Pierce, Fiona’s manager at Patsy’s Pies, her new place of employment. The story, expected to last through the entire season, will feature Sean taking an interest in Fiona and competing for her affections against characters played by Aussie actor Axle Whitehead and Tony winner Steve Kazee. So it's looking like a love square. Or rectangle. Or some other four-sided love mess. Sounds like fun.

Shameless Season 5 will premiere in early 2015.
