Shakira to leave 'The Voice' after Season Six

In a interview, Shakira has announced that she doesn't plan to return as a judge on The Voice.

Slightly surprising right now, but it makes total sense.

The Latina singer says that the show was always "temporary thing for her to do" and that she never thought she would be on a show like this but The Voice's format changed her mind. She wants to go on with her life as an artist.

Now the news that Gwen Stefani will take over the seat that she and Christina Aguilera share makes more sense. Pharrell will occupy Usher's seat (which was once held by Cee-lo Green) in the fall as well.
