Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are adapting all their youthful favorites. The frequent collaborators are not only adapting the iconic comic book Preacher for AMC, they are now making a film centered on the epic console wars of the 90s.

Rogen and Goldberg will write and direct a movie based on Blake Harris's upcoming book, Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo And The Battle That Defined A Generation, which tells the story of the video game industry's rise off of the intense competition between Nintendo and Sega for console supremacy.

The book doesn't even release until later this year, so Sony's decision to option the movie rights must bode well for the book itself. Either way, I was always a Nintendo man, myself, so it should be interesting to see how Rogen and Goldberg interpret the gaming company's rise to the top of the heap.
