Despite Seth MacFarlane making it clear that, while he has a lot of fun doing it, he has no desire to ever host the Oscars again, Deadline has confirmed that the host of the 85th Academy Awards has received the call about returning as host of the 86th next March.

MacFarlane is said to be considering the decision, which would reunite him with producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who have agreed to return as producers of the Academy Awards in 2014.

However, the big problem with securing MacFarlane as host is the fact that the writer/director/actor has a packed schedule. He begins production soon on Western comedy, A Million Ways To Die In The West, as well as Universal’s sequel to Ted, which has raked in a worldwide gross of over half a billion dollars. The studio is going to want MacFarlane to make the sequel his priority, which means it'll be a hard sell to get MacFarlane for a second straight year, since hosting the Oscars is a four-month commitment, at minimum.

Neither Meron, Zadan nor Academy president Hawk Koch have commented on the story as of yet; nor has the only guy whose comments actually matter in this story, Seth MacFarlane.

So what do you think? Should Seth MacFarlane come back for a second year? If not, who should they get instead? Sound off in the comments!
