The 21-year-old singer gave her parental units Mandy and Brian Teefey some pink slips so that she can seek new management.
So what was the reasoning behind the change?
According to sources, Selena feels she's old enough to find someone who knows what they're doing and is famous enough to be picked up by a manager who handles popular celebrities.
The couple were in charge of Selena's career ever since she began at Disney. They are reportedly hurt by Selena's decision but it hasn't broken up the family or anything.
