Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013 Winners

Huge night for actors, clearly. But it's also a pretty big night for determining who's got Oscar momentum. If Argo takes the Best Ensemble prize, then Oscar's Best Picture race is functionally over. Not because the Ensemble prize actually indicates much of anything on its own, but because it would indicate that, in addition to all the other awards-giving bodies that have backed the film (the Globes, the Critics Choice, the PGA), they've got the ACTORS (the largest voting branch of the Academy) behind them too.

But that's not actually the expectation, as conventional wisdom has Silver Linings Playbook or Lincoln taking the big prize.

Keep refreshing the page throughout the night for updates!

Argo continues its tear across the guilds. If Ben Affleck clinches the DGA, the Oscar race is over. Which is somewhat amusing, in the sense that the win for Argo was really the night's only surprise. Every other award seemed to go the direction many were expecting (well, except for the big win for the ensemble of Downton Abbey). We could be looking at a scenario where Argo wins Best Picture without winning anything else except maybe Editing or Screenplay. Either way, this has been an historic awards season, and personally, I'm loving it.
