The writers of the last four Saw films have sold a pitch to CBS Films to adapt the children's horror series Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark into a movie.
Yes, your childhood nightmares will be coming to a theatre near you. Sorry.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who wrote the last four Saw films (Saw IV through Saw: the Final Chapter), will be penning the screenplay, which will center on a group of outcast kids working together to save their town from living nightmares.
While adapting some of author Alvin Schwartz's stories from the terrifying series at the same time of course.
Schwartz began the books in 1981 with Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, continuing with More Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark in 1984 and ending with 1991's Scary Stories 3: More Tales To Chill Your Bones.
Also on board the project are Sean Daniels and Jason Brown of the Sean Daniel Company, who are working on the current Mummy reboot (as well as having a hand in the 1999 version) and producing the upcoming Ben-Hur.
We're having bad dreams already. And only some of them are about Ben-Hur.
