Scarlett Johansson: Dylan Farrow's Woody Allen Op-Ed Was 'Irresponsible'
After being named in Dylan Farrow's open letter about sexual assault claims against father Woody Allen, actress Scarlett Johansson is finally speaking out.
To say that she found Farrow's op-ed piece "irresponsible," mostly because it upset the natural balance of her Google Alerts.
When asked by the Guardian what it felt like to be brought up in the letter at all, Johansson responded, "I think it's irresponsible to take a bunch of actors that will have a Google alert on and to suddenly throw their name into a situation that none of us could possibly knowingly comment on. That just feels irresponsible to me."
Alright then.
In case you forget, the part of the letter Johansson is referring to is the section in which Farrow wrote, "What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson?"
As for how the allegations have affected her relationship with Allen, Scarlett responded, "I don't know anything about it. It would be ridiculous for me to make any kind of assumption one way or the other."
"I'm unaware that there's been a backlash," she went on to head-scratchingly add. "I think he'll continue to know what he knows about the situation, and I'm sure the other people involved have their own experience with it. It's not like this is somebody that's been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, 'I don't support this lifestyle or whatever.' I mean, it's all guesswork."
In other news: Scarlett Johansson has apparently been living under a rock.
