Scandal: Gauguin Cut Off Van Gogh's Ear

A new study claims that Paul Gauguin (Two Tahitian Women) cut off the ear of Vincent van Gogh (Irises) with a sword during an argument. They then kept a "pact of silence": Gauguin to avoid prosecution and Van Gogh in a vain attempt to keep a friend with whom he was hopelessly infatuated.
