Save the date: American Idol 10 Finale is on a Tuesday, May 24 for May 2011 Sweeps

The American Idol 10 Finale Performance Show is on May 24 - a Tuesday. The May 2011 sweeps end on May 25 and FOX wants to get all the Idol ratings in there so they can get all the advertising next season.

I wonder how many viewers will be confused. Save the date!

The finale starts on a Tuesday, not on a Wednesday like usual so they lose a day and still they’ll have three more songs to learn.

For that finale week itself: Three songs again. One will be the song the contestant thought he or she sang the best during the season, one will be the choice of Simon Fuller, “Idol” franchise creator and one will be the song the contestant wants to record once the show is complete.

The “American Idol” finale airs in two parts – Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday May 25, both at 8pm ET on FOX
