Sanjaya Malakar - Top 24

Our absolute favorite this year, Sanjaya Malakar, makes it to the Top 24, but since I was working very hard today and traffic was slow in the city due to the snowstorm, I totally missed it. But of course, I will do everything in my power to find that 1 or 2-minutes that I missed.

Go Sanjaya!

Thoughts on the Top 24: Quite a diverse mix we have here! No super-pretty boy (Ace), no definitive rocker (Chris), no sexy siren (McTatas) -- although probably one of the blah girls might just make a run of it. Instead we have an ultra-sensitive Indian boy, a chubby comedian with curly hair, two background singers, a single mother, a beatboxer (!), etc. etc. etc. I have completely no idea whose going to win -- which is the very reason this will be another blockbuster season. And the fact that almost everybody looks "normal" means the singing will be huge. Melinda and Lakisha may not look like the American Idol but they are going to sing their hearts out every Tuesday for us, guaranteed. If I was a betting man however, I would choose Chris Sligh to win... but we'll discuss that when we get there.

Go Sanjaya!
