The night was August 12th. I had been looking forward to this day ever since Sanjaya Malakar made it into the Top 10. As soon as the PopTarts presale went on, my mom and dad bought me the best tickets they could find. Upper section, but still really good seats because we were close to the stage. And with my sisters camera on 16X zoom, the pictures came out great.

We left our house at around 4:00 and we picked up two of my sisters friends. We headed out to The Palace of Auburn Hills and I couldn't hold in my excitement. As soon as we got there we paid for parking and headed for willcall! We told the lady our name and that we should have something to pick up. She told us she would check, and she said that they would bring it down shortly. In a couple minutes we had the backstage passes! They checked our purses and we walked up the stairs and bought souveneirs. My mother bought me a program to get signed after the show, and a picture of Sanjaya! My sister got a gray American Idols Live t-shirt. Our section, 229, was right by where we were standing so we headed to our seats and my sister and her two friends headed to their seats.

My mom asked the usher where we should go after the concert is over and she told us to turn to the right and go down the elevator, and then ask a security guard. So me and my mom waited for the concert to start since it was only about 6:30. The lady behind me asked what my mom was talking about that we had to go to the elevators for after the show and my mom said it was the backstage passes to the afterparty. They then asked me how we got them, and I told them how I like Sanjaya and I am reporting what happens for the Michigan Show. And to make that even more special, they arranged for them to get backstage passes. She thought that was very cool, and she then told me how she had liked Sanjaya and she thought he was the best! I was very pleased to hear this.

Before I knew it, the concert was starting. The dancing poptarts were on the stage, and a mysterious man in disguise was beatboxing. Blake! Weird.......... but still cool!
