Sanjaya Malakar - Angel

Here's a portrait of Sanjaya Malakar when he was 6-years-old.
Momjaya shared it on Dazeoffire last week and I only got to it today.
Where is Sanjaya Malakar now? I really don't know. My guess is that he will continue working on his CD with his sister (I've resigned to this fact already) after the holidays, and after they find a place in Los Angeles, and after they move and settle in with the furnishings and studio equipment. So realistically speaking, Sanjaya won't be able to record anything until after the new year, probably even February or March 2008.
Was that too negative or was I just speculating out loud? Can we continue to be naive forever? LOL. What was my time-frame again? 6 months? OK, so we officially panic sometime in March. But American Idol Season 7 will be in full swing by then so I'll probably just panic a little. (2kids -- we might need to organize that Florida concert for the Fanjayas after all...)
I really hoped that Sanjaya and Team Sanjaya aggressively pursued the TV route with Nickelodeon, Disney or Cartoon Network -- where he can work on his craft and gain fans outside of American Idol. Apparently, they are convinced that a Sanjaya CD will sell in the thousands on the strength of his Idol appearance alone, no matter when it comes out. Aside from Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks who have big recording studios behind them, I think the most practical idol has been LaKisha Jones, who just skipped all this recording nonsense and got herself a real job on Broadway's "The Color Purple" -- which means, if I was a LaKisha Jones fan, I could just go to Broadway to listen to her sing beginning January. Not true for Sanjaya Malakar. We're just going to have to wait. Just like the Ace Young fans who have been waiting for 1 year. The Constantine Maroulis fans who waited 2 years. And the fans of countless other singers who have graced the Idol stage who are still waiting. The good news is that Sanjaya will live on YouTube forever.
Lighting a fire under Sanjaya's ass. Get to work kid. We miss you.
