Sam Smith sings 'Fast Car' on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge (VIDEO)

Sam Smith already has the world by the ear with "Stay With Me", which radio stations have yet to fully exhaust in their rotation. (This is without even getting into how "Latch" continues to get frequent airplay)

However, Smith isn't just bringing life to his own songs, he's giving a second life to the hits of yesteryear. In particular, Smith is tackling Tracy Chapman’s iconic 1988 classic "Fast Car", delivering a cover that's somehow more versatile than his acclaimed cover of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know". The cover was for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, and featured a jazzy arrangement that simply has to be heard to be believed. It's different, but instantly compelling and memorable.
