Ryan Murphy continues his gradual takeover of television, as the mind behind Glee, American Horror Story and The New Normal is getting in bed with HBO.
Murphy has sold the cable network his latest pilot, Open. The series is described as a “modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships” co-written by Dexter executive producer Lauren Gussis.
The project marks the second collaboration between Murphy and HBO, following his TV movie adaptation of The Normal Heart, Larry Kramer’s acclaimed play, which will see release in 2014.
