Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Reportedly Expecting First Child

A baby with outrageously good genes is on the way! Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are reportedly expecting their first child together.

Turns out the reason that Mendes has been AWOL from the public eye for most of 2014 has been because she's seven months pregnant with Gosling's baby! Naturally, you'd kind of have to drop off the face of the Earth in order to keep something like this a secret, but this is not to imply that Mendes is in any way unhappy about her situation.

"She’s been ready for motherhood for a while now," an insider told OK! Magazine, which broke the story, "and to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!"

Gosling and Mendes have been together since 2011 after co-starring as parents in The Place Beyond the Pines. However, the couple has been on-again/off-again for the past year -- not that their tumultuous relationship is going to affect Gosling's decision to be there for his kid. "Ryan grew up without a dad, so he always said when he had kids, he’d be there no matter what," a source says. "This is it for him."

Of course, the same sources are suggesting that this promise may not be enough for Mendes. "Ryan doesn’t think they need to marry just because they are having a baby, but Eva believes it’s important to have their lives fully intertwined."

Whether they ultimately decide to walk down the aisle or not, this calls for congratulations all-around! All the best to Gosling and Mendes.
