Run Rickey Run

I missed last week's class due to work. In fact I had my running gear on while doing my computer-guy thing, but I just wasn't as fast as I thought I was in getting rid of whatever computer problem my client had that day. Actually this had also something to do with some bad sleeping habits coupled with unrealistic and optimistic expectations about arriving on time (haha -- to those who followed the "tardy" link this week, you know what I mean). For some reason my obsessive urges kicked into high gear last week and I played Settlers of Catan on the Xbox 360 till the sun came up, which pretty much screwed up my entire life for a few days. I've almost recovered, and pushed my waking hours back to 10 AM, instead of lets say, 3 PM. At any rate, I ran today.
For class #3 out of 10, we had a surprisingly high drop out rate of 60+%. There were about 18 people left in the absolute beginners class -- a class which started at around 60 people. Also, true to my Sanjaya-form, I was now the only guy in the room. It seems like I accidentally enrolled myself in an exclusive girls school or something. Weird and awkward. Unlike the last time however, today I was friendlier. I introduced myself to a couple of people so now I am running buddies with Kathy and Melkis. Neat!
Today we ran for 3 minutes then walk for 2 minutes, repeated 4 times. This totals to about 1 mile of running. I ran 1 mile today! Hurray. To be honest, running with people at a steady pace makes it easier and more enjoyable. I almost didn't feel anything, even if I was clearly sweating because I am so out of shape. I am now very excited for the next class where we run 4 minutes. Now I just need to run again 3 more times on my own before next Thursday.
I walked back home, which was around 5 avenue blocks, plus 30 blocks north.
