Rosie O'Donnell to rejoin 'The View' - Report

Rosie O'Donnell may return to The View as co-host after Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy were fired a few days ago.

TMZ reported on Monday that the show is "actively negotiating" with O'Donnell to return to the show which she briefly co-hosted from 2006-2008.

Rosie O'Donnell is said to be very interested in coming back to the show if the money is right.

We may get an announcement of the deal this week from ABC.

Whoopi Goldberg is currently the only host on the show, so The View needs some co-hosts really quick. A tandem of Whoopi and Rosie might actually work to be honest. Those are two very opinionated ladies right there and I don't know how additional hosts would be able to put a word in between them.

Stay tuned!

UPDATE: TMZ has revised their report and now says that it is a done deal. Rosie is returning to The View after seven years! The show is also looking for two more hosts: a conservative and a Latina. Any guesses on who will land the hosting job opposite Whoopi and Rosie?

Rosie O’Donnell, right, with executive producer Barbara Walters, returned to 'The View' as a guest in February. (ABC / Lou Rocco)
