I just learned from a podiatrist, who upon inspecting my "damaged finger" from a couple of months ago, that I most likely had a fracture on the cartillage that did not appear on the x-ray. It's still a little tender after two months so that was his conclusion. In a way, I'm a little disappointed in hearing that because apparently not all emergency residents are well-versed in minor fractures of the finger. But at least it wasn't any worse. Although it really sucks that it will take two more months before a new nail fianlly takes its rightful place.
