Rochelle Pitt sang 'Rolling In the Deep' on The X Factor Australia 2014 Live Show 5.

Oh, Rochelle. Rochelle, Rochelle, Rochelle. I love you to pieces, but you kind of have to go home after that. I totally understand nerves, but this is Week 5. How do you completely forget the lyrics to 'Rolling In the Deep'? That song was inescapable.

I felt awful for her during this, since she's such a wonderful woman, and a powerful singer. But I feel as though it would be an absolute crime to excuse her forgetting the lyrics so badly. Some contestants deserve a break and a little bit of leeway, but often, I feel as though sympathy reigns on reality competitions far too often. I feel bad for Rochelle, but I'm under no delusions that this was a good performance, or that everyone should be voting to put her through to next week. Hell of a singer, yes; and even the best screw up, absolutely. But no. No to all of this.

On the plus side, at least she kept going. It's the mark of a true performer. Also a bonus, she sounded pretty great once she got past the rough parts.
