Robin Thicke and Paula Patton may have announced that they're separating, but one person who is not willing to give up on the 8-year marriage is Robin Thicke.

As he explained to reporters in the above video (while still wearing his wedding ring), "I'm just trying to get her back."

Thicke also went on to assure the paparazzo that the split has nothing to do with his VMAs performance with Miley Cyrus and that his marital troubles will not affect his performances.

He canceled three in the wake of the announcement on Monday (Feb. 24).

The singer then went and put on a concert for fans, telling the captive audience, "For y'all that don't know, me and my wife separated, but I'm trying to get my girl back. She's a good woman."

At which point he performed the song "Lost Without U" which he said he wrote for his estranged wife.

It's almost enough to make you feel bad for him. Almost.
