Robin Thicke on VMA set with Miley Cyrus: "The whole point was to provoke"

Robin Thicke has finally broken his silence on his eye-opening VMA setlist with Miley Cyrus last month. See what the R&B crooner had to say:

At first I was wondering if Robin wanted all of this but I mean he's on one heck of a come-up with the #1 album and single "Blurred Lines." Although it was really focus on Miley, it further got his name out there too (even though he has the #1 song of the year).

He did admit that he did see why some people took offense, and then even said that his wife, actress Paula Patton, loved it!

What do you think?

"We knew what we were getting ourselves into. We're entertainers, and the VMAs is the perfect place for a little shock and awe. Yeah, we kind of knew when we were in rehearsal. … We were like, 'OK, if you touch me with your foam finger all over my crotch, obviously a few people are going to have something to say about this.' But that was the whole point. I mean, the whole point was to excite and provoke and entertain. I thought it was silly and funny. She was being humorous and naughty. But it wasn't sexually charged at all. That's who she is and that's how she likes to dance. And she was just being herself and I was just being myself."
