Robert Pattinson Rumored To Be New Indiana Jones
Well, it's not April 1st. I triple-checked. But you'd never know from the latest rumors surrounding the Indiana Jones film franchise. With 71-year-old Harrison Ford getting a bit too old to play the iconic action hero, and the star's recent decision to commit to the new Star Wars movies, Disney is looking into new options for Indiana Jones. Enter Robert Pattinson.
Yes, Robert Pattinson. According to a Los Angeles insider, "Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight. But the competition will be stiff."
As the insider explains, this is a very involved process for the studio: "Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise. They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies."
Of course, this is all rumor and speculation right now. But while Pattinson isn't exactly the world's worst choice, I feel the Twilight association would be incredibly harmful to the franchise among casual fans, who maybe don't realize that Pattinson is actually quite good in the right role. However, the Indiana Jones name could help overcome this issue, as the franchise is much bigger than any one man's ability to ruin it, I would think.
What do you think? If not Pattinson, who would be a good choice to take over for Harrison Ford? Sound off in the comments!
