Robert Downey, Jr. Is Hollywood's Highest-Paid Actor for Second Year
Everything is coming up golden for the guy in the iron suit. (Well, technically, it's made of alloy that contains titanium and other...science...stuff)
Robert Downey, Jr. has topped the Forbes list of Hollywood's highest-paid actors for the second consecutive year with a $75 million haul. All things considered, this is a pretty huge accomplishment since Downey only released one film in the period between June 2013 and June 2014: Jon Favreau’s Chef. Thus, the overwhelming majority of the money comes from his Marvel deals, naturally: Iron Man 3 was the highest-grossing movie of 2013 with $1.2 billion at the box office, leading to a considerable pay raise for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. There's a very real possibility that, by the time Age of Ultron releases next May, it'll be three years in a row at the top of the Forbes list for RDJ.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson came in second with $52 million off of his roles in the Fast & Furious movies, Hercules, a lucrative WWE comeback, and a producing credit on HBO’s football comedy, Ballers. He's followed by Bradley Cooper ($46 million), Leonardo DiCaprio ($29 million), and Chris Hemsworth ($37 million), all of whom rounded out the top 5.
