rickey.org Blog Reader Demographics Survey Results
Here are the results of the Blog Survey I posted a few weeks ago. Thanks to everyone who participated!
Some Thoughts:
I had some inkling of what a typical rickey.org reader would be like, but it's always surprising to see some actual data to back up or refute your theories. This is great for marketing in the future -- you know, when I try to sell more advertising on the blog so I finally meet my goal of having nothing but ads on rickey.org. LOL. (Jane Seymour ads good... Ann Coulter ads baaaaad.)
77% of rickey.org readers are Female. Wow. I didn't know I was such a chick magnet! It's nice to know I share something in common with a certain American Idol sensation we've been covering since February. Another analysis is since it has been obvious for a while that I have the sensibilities of a little girl, all the little girls (in their twenties apparently -- hahaha) flock to the blog to read up on our common interests. However, since every other blog writes about stuff little girls are interested in anyway, the only other reason the little girls go to rickey.org is because... ahem... Rickey is a chick magnet! LOL
44% of rickey.org readers are between 21-34 -- the most coveted market segment in TV advertising. I don't really know what it means, although I think it might be useful.
A majority of rickey.org readers do not live in the city even if I live in New York City.
A majority of rickey.org readers are quite educated with 18% having post-graduate degrees. Woohoo! Yay to us. It means we are smart and think things through before we hit submit... well not really.
About 67% of rickey.org readers are white. This is signficant because I've seen blog results where the percentage of white readers are above 82% (a bit more than the national average). It's nice to know there's some diversity over here. Although, I kinda wanted more African-American and Latino readers. Donde estas?
40% of rickey.org readers don't attend religious services, yet only 11% are Atheists. Hmmm...
10% of rickey.org readers use the Mac at work and 100% are on some sort of broadband connection. Dialup is dead!
Also, it's very interesting that 35% of those who answered the survey do not actually leave comments on rickey.org. And 30% of you said that the only blog you read is rickey.org. So thank you guys!
Finally, I'm just a little concerned that only 56% of you floss with any regularity. Guys, you really should floss everyday. Oral hygiene is next to godliness! (Also good for your overall health).
So there you have it. If anything, after all these years, I finally realize what YOU guys have known all along: Rickey is a chick magnet!
