10. Get Lucky - Daft Punk featuring Pharrell
Pharrell made a major comeback this year. Two of the song are in our top ten, the first being "Get Lucky," which was a worldwide smash and reached #2 on the Hot 100. Everyone was trying to get lucky on the funky, disco track.

9. Power Trip - J. Cole featuring Miguel
J. Cole chose to enter his sophomore era with "Power Trip" as the lead single from the #1 album, Born Sinner. He enlisted Miguel for the now-Platnium certified track which peaked at #19 on the Hot 100, and is nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2013 Grammys. Finish with a heavy, powerful video and Cole was onto a winner, not a "Power Trip."

8. 23 - Mike Will Made It featuring Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J
The urban Miley we had waited for came into full form on Mike Will Made It's "23." No one has every sounded so ratchet and redneck at the same d*mn time. Because of Miley, Mike Will had a surefire debut single to his name as the song reached #11 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Miley scandalous antics in the song's music video made it a viral hit.

7. Royals - Lorde
New Zealand 16-year old maestra Lorde came out the cut with her worldwide hit "Royals." She spit rhythmic lines better than some rappers twice her age! It was Lana Del Rey meets a swagged out, rebellious teen. The song was so impactful, the primarily pop number even became an urban radio hit, and garnered remixes from the likes of Rick Ross!

6. Love & War - Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton burst out onto the scene with her debut single, "Love & War." Many of us had known this for sometime, but the youngest of Braxton clan packs some killer pipes. The straight-forward love song had everyone "standing on the front line" and it was critically acclaimed. In the words of Tamar herself, she did that! It is nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance at the 2013 Grammys.

5. How Many Drinks - Miguel featuring Kendrick Lamar
Miguel's first single from his sophomore album, "Adorn" was a sure-fire hit. Meanwhile, another single from they album "How Many Drinks" was one of the most underrated and slept-on songs of the year. The falsetto, the delivery, the production, the lyrics, K.Dot's rap - this song was everything. Although it did not receive similar chart glory, it is nominated for Best R&B Performance at the 2013 Grammys.

4. Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell
In inarguably, "Blurred Lines" was the song of the year. It was literally EVERYWHERE, on all formats. Worldwide, international, stateside - it was a hit. Robin Thicke had his biggest song in life. Even despite the controversy surrounding Marvin Gaye, questionable lyrics, and a NSFW music video, this song defined the year. Oh yeah, and Pharrell does no wrong and T.I. gives awesome guest verses.

3. Treasure - Bruno Mars
I was afraid that Bruno Mars' funky pop with a splash of R&B would not be a chart hit. However, music listeners gulped it up just like every other one of Mars's singles. The music climate now supports most things "retro," and lucky for Bruno he had another hit - reaching #5 on the Hot 100.

2. The Way - Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande made the transition to teen comedy star to budding pop star in the most perfect fashion since Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake. Being christened as a "new Mariah," the masses were over-joyed that her single "The Way" brought back 90s music. Stellar voice, looks, and moves Grande is the future. "The Way" was an instant Hot 100 Top 10 single.

1. Body Party - Ciara
By making the comeback of the past decade, Ciara's "Body Party" is Rickey.org's Top Song of 2013. Everyone thought the young Atlanta-bred singer would never recapture former chart glory. Boy, were they wrong. She put out one of the best songs of her career, and a defining one at that! Not only was it commercially successful, it was appreciated on a critical tip, receiving universal acclaim. Reaching #22 on the Hot 100, it was her biggest hit in a while.
